CS2 practice server commands

Type these in chat on a rented server. .prac turns Practice on. .help opens the command sheet on the HUD.

Practice

Turns Practice on. Loads the practice config: cheats, infinite ammo, grenade trajectory, no warmup, buy anywhere, buddha, and the rest of the practice cvars. The HUD shows a Practice card and a toast to type .help. If a scrim is running, it is ended first and its demo is uploaded when one was recording.

Leaves practice. If a scrim is also running, the scrim ends too.

Opens the Practice help sheet on the HUD, paged with .help 2. Only works while Practice is on.

Opens the HUD help sheet. During Practice it lists the commands registered on that server, paged with .help 2. During a scrim it lists warmup, side pick, and match commands.

Leaves practice and puts practice.cfg back. If a scrim is running, this ends the scrim instead and does not print “prac off”.

Only works in practice. Practice bots are kicked, no-flash is cleared, and MatchZy/dryrun.cfg is executed: buy time, freeze time, MR12, friendly fire. If that file is missing, it falls back to gamemode_competitive.cfg, then restarts the game. Chat says dry run. Grenade tools stay blocked while the dry run flag is set.

Maps

Changes the map when map change is allowed. With no argument it prints the current map. Short names work: mirage becomes de_mirage, and the same for dust2, dust, inferno, nuke, overpass, vertigo, ancient, anubis, train, cache, cobble (de_cbble), italy, office, agency, militia, and assault. A numeric id is loaded as a workshop map.

Spawns and teams

Spawn numbers start at 1 and only include the competitive spawn set. Casual extras on Valve maps are skipped. You must be alive, and in practice. Spectators are ignored.

Teleports you to that spawn for the team you are on.

Teleports you to that CT or T spawn.

Teleports you to your team’s spawn closest to where you are standing. .worstspawn uses the furthest.

Closest or furthest CT or T spawn, regardless of your team.

Draws a beam on every competitive CT spawn (blue) and T spawn (orange). .hidespawns removes those beams.

Toggles noclip for you. This one does not require practice. Turning it off also drops the overhead watch camera. Joining practice installs client aliases so noclip and nc in your own console call the plugin.

Stores your origin and eye angles. .loadpos teleports you back there. One saved spot per player.

Sets your health to the maximum integer. Using it again sets health back to 100. The server’s buddha cvar is separate and stays on during practice.

Switches your team with ChangeTeam. From spectator this refuses and tells you to use the team menu. In a scrim these three do not switch teams the practice way: during scrim warmup they still change team and clear your ready, during the knife and live match they are locked, and after the knife they are the side pick. If the winners are already on the side you name, they stay. Otherwise the teams swap. Only the winning team can choose. If nobody chooses, they stay.

Moves every other human to spectator so they watch you. You stay where you are.

Grenades

Practice remembers each grenade you throw. Bots are not recorded. Joining practice aliases rethrow, throw, and rt in your console.

Throws that same grenade again. If it has a delay, the plugin waits, then reproduces the throw. Otherwise it runs sv_rethrow_last_grenade.

Deletes smokes, molotovs, incendiaries, flashes, HEs, decoys, and burning infernos on the map.

Toggles flash immunity for you. While it is on, flashbangs do not blind you. Other players are still flashed.

Toggles sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview for the whole server.

Toggles sv_showimpacts between 0 and 1.

Sets host_timescale 10, freezes living players, and chats fast forward 20s. When the 20-second timer ends, timescale goes back to 1 and the previous move type is restored. It does nothing useful if practice was turned off during the wait.

Fires Break on prop_dynamic and func_breakable entities: windows, doors, and similar.

Bots

These spawn a frozen bot on the opposite team at your feet, then stop, freeze, and zombie the bots. If you are already crouched, the bot is crouched even for .bot.

Spawns a standing bot.

Spawns a crouched bot.

Spawns a bot and lifts you 80 units.

Spawns a crouched bot and lifts you 80 units.

Removes replay bots and these practice bots. It does not require practice. Chat says bots removed.

Strats

.team picks which website team this server writes and reads strats for. It is not the T/CT switch.

With no number, or a bad number, it lists your teams as .team 1, .team 2, and so on. The choice is remembered for your Steam ID. If you had typed .addstrat before picking a team, that name is created as soon as you pick.

Opens a strat with that name on the current map for the selected team. If one already exists on the team, it opens it. Otherwise it creates one, 8 spots by default, and syncs it to the site. Then the spot menu opens. With no name it prints the usage. With no team selected it asks you to .team first and keeps the name.

Reopens the menu for the strat you already have open.

Opens a strat by name without creating it, then opens the menu. The lookup is your selected team first, then your other teams. With no name, if a strat is already open, the menu opens again. With no name and nothing open, it lists this map’s strats the same way .strats does.

Lists the selected team’s strats on this map, or on the map you name. mirage is accepted. Each line shows the name and how many spots are recorded. Picking one from the menu loads it.

Plays every recorded spot as bots. With no name, it plays the open strat. If the strat is on another map and map change is allowed, the server changes map and plays it when the map loads. While a scrim is on, this is refused.

Scrim

Leaves Practice, kicks bots, and starts scrim warmup. Knife and playout both start on. Competitive damage is restored: no infinite ammo, no buddha, no nospread. The match strip shows ready count. Warmup stays up until people ready. Type .help for the command sheet. Typing .scrim again restarts warmup. If the previous scrim was live, its demo is uploaded first.

Ends the scrim, uploads the demo if one was recording, and returns the server to the normal practice config.

Marks you ready. You must be on T or CT during warmup. Spectators are told to join a team. When every human on T and CT is ready, and both teams have at least one player, the knife round starts, or the match goes live if the knife is off. Switching team clears ready.

Clears your ready.

Prints knife, playout, overtime, and the names of people who are not ready, up to 8.

Skips ready and starts immediately. If one team is empty it still starts and says so. Only works in warmup. In Prefire, .start starts the run like .go.

Toggles the knife round. In warmup it applies to this scrim. After the knife has started, or once the match is live, the change is saved for the next .scrim. The knife round strips guns, disables buying, and gives knives only. A draw replays the knife. The winning side then has 20 seconds.

Toggles playing every round. On sets mp_match_can_clinch 0 and turns overtime off, so the match runs the full mp_maxrounds, 24 from the live config, MR12. Off allows a clinch and uses the overtime setting.

Toggles whether overtime is allowed. While playout is on, overtime stays off no matter this switch. The preference is kept and applied when playout is turned off.

Prints knife, playout, overtime, and the phase: warmup, knife, side, or live. In warmup it also prints the ready count. While live it prints the T and CT scores.

After the knife, keeps the winners on their current side and goes live. If nobody chooses, they stay. The live match uses MatchZy/dryrun.cfg, or gamemode_competitive.cfg if that file is missing, then restarts in 3 seconds. The match strip switches to Live.

After the knife, swaps sides, then goes live. Only the winning team can choose. .ct and .t in this window mean “we want that side”: if the winners are already on it, they stay. Otherwise the teams swap.

Pauses at the next freezetime via mp_pause_match. Works during the knife round and while live.

The same pause, announced as a technical pause.

The same pause call as .pause.

Needs both teams to type it. From the server console, .unpause unpauses immediately. During side selection, unpause is refused. Use .stay or .switch.

Unpauses immediately.

Calls timeout_ct_start or timeout_terrorist_start for your team. Live only.

Goes back to scrim warmup. A live demo is stopped and uploaded.

Ends the scrim, uploads the demo, and restores the practice config. The same upload happens when the match actually ends, on a clinch or on the last round when playout is on.

Prefire

Prefire uses Creators, Courses, and Stages. Rating is the rank score on the HUD.

Opens the Prefire menu: pick a Creator, then a Course, then a Stage. Play all runs every stage in a row. The HUD shows seating, a 3-2-1 countdown, stage progress, and enemies left. A results card appears at the end.

Opens Creative Studio. The help sheet lists Walk, Bots, and Course. E records or stops a walk. .place, .delplace, .crouch, and .chance edit bots. .mode switches Prefire or Swap for the task you are making. .save keeps a draft. .publish ships it.

In Studio, switches which gamemode the current arena task is authored for. .mode with no name flips Prefire and Swap. .mode prefire or .mode swap sets it. If that arena already has the other mode, Studio opens those tasks.

Leaves Prefire, Swap, or Studio and returns you to Practice. It does not end a scrim; use .endmatch for that.

Skips the current Stage, or the current Course if you are on the last Stage.

Shows or sets your Prefire Rating. Rating moves once per take: clear it to gain, die and the take restarts with a loss. Kills alone no longer change it. The HUD badge shows rank progress and the last delta.

Sets bot difficulty relative to your rating: .easy plays 500 below it, .normal at it, .hard 200 above, .expert 400 above, .nightmare 600 above. Harder takes gain more and lose less; easier takes gain less and lose more. Chat shows the difficulty and win or lose amount at the start of each take. Changing it mid-take restarts the take.

Swap

Swap plays both sides of one angle. Author a hold and one bot, same as Prefire.

Opens Swap. Pick a course, peek the bot, then you take their seat and swing the angle you just held. Die and the stage restarts from the first peek. During a scrim, .swap picks sides like .switch.
