How to download your CS2 demos
Premier and competitive demos download from the Watch tab in CS2. FACEIT demos download from the match room on FACEIT. Neither is kept for long, so get them soon after you play, or let Subtick fetch them for you.

Premier and competitive matches
The list only holds your recent matches, and older demos can no longer be downloaded.
- Open the Watch tab in the CS2 main menu and go to Your Matches.
- Pick the match and click Download.
- When it is done, click Watch to play it in the game. The file is saved in the replays folder inside game\csgo in your CS2 install.
FACEIT matches
Open the match room of the match on FACEIT and click Watch Demo. You can download demos from matches in the last 30 days.
The file comes compressed. Unpack it with an archive tool before you play it in CS2 with playdemo. If you upload it to Subtick, you can drop in the compressed file as it is.
Have Subtick fetch them for you
Downloading every match by hand gets old. Subtick can fetch both kinds for you, and they wait in the 2D viewer after you play.
- Premier and competitive: give Subtick your CS2 game authentication code and the sharing code of your most recent match. It then fetches your new Premier and competitive matches.
- FACEIT: connect your FACEIT account. Subtick fetches your CS2 matches from the last 30 days through FACEIT's official download service, then checks for new ones every 15 minutes.
- Both go into a personal folder that only you can see.
Upload a demo you already have
Upload .dem files, or .bz2, .zst, .zip and .rar archives with demos inside, several at once and up to 2 GB each. Subtick parses the demo, then deletes the file. The rounds, the stats and the 2D replay stay in your library.
Questions
How long can I download a CS2 matchmaking demo?
Not for long. Only your recent matches are listed in the Watch tab, and older demos can no longer be downloaded. Get the ones you want soon after you play, or let Subtick fetch them for you.
Where does CS2 save downloaded demos?
In the replays folder inside game\csgo in your CS2 install. The install folder is still called Counter-Strike Global Offensive.
How long does FACEIT keep demos?
You can download the demos of FACEIT matches from the last 30 days.
Can I get my demos without downloading them?
Yes. Connect FACEIT and add your CS2 codes on Subtick, and your new matches are fetched for you and open in the 2D viewer.
